The Weeknd talks to NME in London

On Oct. 25th The Weeknd had a small show at the Supper Club in London in which played for a small crowd of his UK fans.

In a small chat NME, the UK music website, they caught up with Abel during the show while he answered a couple small questions. It  shouldn't be called an interview, but it's probably a small step for him until he actually gets a legit interview.

He pretty much tells NME on how feels about his music, and who his favorite artists was to collaborate with. The whole article is prettty short, but it takes some of the mystery off even for a bit.

Tru Religion(Owl Face Mafia)-Owl Face Mafia Vol. 1(Mixtape)

There has been a boom of young and talented rappers coming from the Westcoast recently, it has been a big movement that has been bringing us a variety of sounds and styles.

There is an underground rap group who consists of four young rappers; Maccassi Kilo, MaxtheGoon AKA Hennessy Venom, CyPress, and Tru King. Each one has their own style and their own rap flow, but when you put them together they form Owl Face Mafia, and they are coming from the Northern part of California. From Oakland to Sacramento, they have come together to create something different than most other new rap groups.

You have Macassi Kilo, who comes from the city of Oakland. He brings some range to the group since he has the ability to rap about whatever. Just give him a beat, and he'll demolish it with some witty lines. As the co-creator of Owl Face Mafia, Maccassi created the Owl Face Mafia alongside with MaxtheGoon, who is the next member of the group. Max is basically the guy who gets everyone together, keeps everything on check and raps from time to time if needed. CyPress is one of the youngest ones in the group, and has the talent of one of the best freestylers. Coming from Sacramento,CA, and when he combines with Macassi they both create some of the sickest duos rap has ever heard. TRu King is a producer/rapper who gets his beat influences from much of the Chopper movement. Adding many samples into his music is what makes Tru King a name to look out for.

Assembled over 2 years ago, they have created something much more than music; they have created a family of their own. The closeness the members are with each other makes the music one of the best rap out  now.

With their Owl Face Mafia Vol. 1 coming out in October, they asserted themselves as a group to look out for. Go and check out for yourself, take and listen and download to show them some love.

The Weeknd-Trilogy Album (Letter to Abel)

When House of Balloons was first released on the 21st of March, 2011, no one would have expected for it to blow up this much. It was an experimental sound, something everybody wasn't too familiar with. All of the excitement came in part from Drake, when he quoted Abel through his twitter one of the songs off of the mixtape. This then sparked the interest of many people.

Now it's November 13th 2012, and as I sit hear watching everyone buy the album, and watching people place "XO" after their twitter names shows you just how much The Weeknd has impacted the music world.

This time it's just not about his music; it's more about the person he was last year, to who is today, to who he has become one year later, how much he's going to change, and to how the music is going to change and if it would stay the same. Supporting a true artist and watching him evolve creates a bigger pride, and seeing how far Abel can and will take this. I wish him good luck, and hopefully he would stay true to his music, and especially himself and what he stood for from the very beginning.

-xo until we overdose...
